Well done to all the Champions 2014!
EVENING AWARDS PRESENTATION & ENTERTAINMENT
After a glorious day of tennis over 50 members adjourned to the golf club for a very relaxed evening with drinks and supper of delicious fish and chunky chips with all the bits. Over coffee Carlton and Roger presented the winners and runners up with their prizes and prestigious trophies to much applause and banter.
There followed a new addition to the proceedings as the winners sang 'We Are The Champions' they had to have their arm twisted by Rory though, it started a little shyly but they soon got into their stride and performed like true champions, Lena showing the way with the same gusto she showed on court but sadly not quite the timing, what happened to her doubles partner Jill, last seen hiding in the ladies?
KARAOKE
A mix of dancing and Karaoke finished off the evening, what great movers on the dance floor were Di Gray, Sally Crathern and Mr and Mrs Waterfall, there were some great singing performances too from Neil Conniff,Liz Caffyn-Parsons, Poppy Jackson and Mike Henry and a notable performance from Pete Jackson too, as in I have made a 'note' to switch the mike off if he tries it again, just joking its was great Pete!
And what a finale everyone singing Summer Loving, Hey Jude and it did not exactly bring the house down but it could have shattered a few panes of glass.
A BIG special thanks to Neil Coniff who set up his great music and karaoke system.
PS. He is NOT available for weddings, funerals or Bar Mitzvah
