SUMMARY OF CLUB Terms & Conditions/RULES
- The following is a summary of the WSTC rules - a full copy is posted on the clubhouse notice board.
- Tennis clothing must be worn at all times on court (WSTC does NOT operate a white kit only policy).
- Tennis shoes must be worn on court (no need to be specific clay court shoes).
- All tennis balls should be collected and the nets let down once play is completed.
- COURT SWEEPING PROTOCOL
- As courtesy to other players please allow at least 5 minutes before the end of your session to sweep the courts in a timely manner for the next court booking.
- Club roll up sessions: If nobody is waiting for your court when you finish play then it is your job to sweep it, lock the gate and return the key
- It is important to pick leaves/fauna and flora up before playing/sweeping so they do not get trodden/worked into the sand which if they do will promote moss growth. Moss growth is very difficult to eradicate and is extremely damaging to the artificial clay surface.
- Heavy rain and very icy conditions: do not sweep the court
- View short video on how to sweep the courts HERE
- The courts should be kept tidy and clear of rubbish, old tennis balls etc...at all times
- Bad language & poor sportsmanship have no place on the tennis court. Click HERE to view WSTC Code of Conduct policy.
- Strictly no animals permitted on the courts at any time.
- The Clubhouse must be kept tidy at all times. This includes washing & putting away any cups and dishes.
- The flood lights must be turned off no later than 9.45pm
- A member may normally introduce only one playing visitor at a time unless prior permission has been gained from a committee member.
- The required details in the Visitors' book must be filled in and guest fee paid before play (£5/adult & Young Person & £2/U15)
- A visitor may play at most six times in any 12 month period, whoever makes the introduction.
- WSTC does not operate a turn up and play arrangement. Courts MUST be booked online using the court booking portal. Please observe court booking etiquette & rules. CLICK HERE for more information.
- The Club email & Whatsapp groups are for tennis club related business only and should not be used for private messaging/selling and/or promotion of a business. - The membership fee is paid annually by direct debit as a single payment. No partial refunds are given should a Member leave part way through the membership year.
- *A Member who has an illness or physical problem that prevents or significantly impairs his or her ability to play tennis may apply to the WSTC Committee to suspend his or her playing rights for a period of not less than three months, without loss of membership status, until such Tennis Member is again able to play tennis. Golf club bar & restaurant area
We have excellent facilities at the Golf Club clubhouse which we encourage tennis members to use. If using the bar and restaurant facilities tennis members can wear clean (non sweaty) tennis gear/tennis shoes in the bar and sun terrace areas.
There are showers and changing facilities at the Golf Club with complimentary towels and shampoo. Your plastic membership card gives electronic access to these. Should tennis players change out of their tennis gear into civvies they should please observe the Golf Club dress code for the bar and restaurant which is smart casual (no trainers/tennis shoes) and collared shirts for men.
