Intermediate and above see guide HERE
THE FINAL & PLAY FORMAT
The final will be held after lunch at approximately 1:30 PM.
PLAY FORMAT
Unlike the initial knockout rounds, the FINAL (both main competition & plate) will follow a Fast Four format: matches will be played as the best of two (2) short sets (first to four games). At 3-3, a tiebreaker will be played (first to 7, with a 2-point margin). If the match goes to a third set, a Championship tiebreaker will be played (first to 10, with a 2-point margin).
We’ve tested the timings, and if everything goes as planned, we should comfortably finish by 3:00 PM.
MATCH PAIRINGS
Matched pairings (strong players with less strong players) will ensure that everyone has a fair chance of progressing through the rounds. Pairs will be drawn from a hat at the Friday evening social tennis & BBQ on May 9th.
Players & Spectators

Plate Tournament
The Plate Tournament is a knock-out competition where first-round losers enter an alternative knock-out tournament, culminating in an eventual winner. This guarantees that every entrant will play at least two matches.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the winning pair in both the main and plate tournaments.
TIMINGS
Players and spectators are welcome to come and go as they please and are not obligated to stay for the entire day. If you are knocked out in the early rounds, feel free to head home and return later for lunch and/or to watch the final at 1:30 PM.
